On June 12, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Huynh Van Son had a meeting with representatives of the Japan - Vietnam Exchange Center with Mr. Sho Shiratori as Director, Mr. Akirinko as General Executive Director and Obayashi Group.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Huynh Van Son sincerely thanked Mr. Sho Shiratori and the Japan - Vietnam Exchange Center for actively supporting and connecting Japanese enterprises to learn about the investment environment and implement projects in the province in the past time. Especially creating conditions for provincial leaders to meet and work for the fourth time with Obayashi Group, demonstrating the deep cooperative relationship, towards sustainable development.

Mr. Huynh Van Son hopes to soon implement the contents that he has worked on before with the Department of Industry and Trade, especially the policy of signing a Memorandum of Understanding on "Hydrogen Energy Production System Model Project - a solution for using excess renewable energy". This is an important project, demonstrating Long An's commitment to developing clean energy and reducing to net zero emissions by 2050 according to the goal of the Vietnamese Government.

The leaders of Long An Provincial People's Committee believe that, with determination from both sides, the green hydrogen energy model will soon be successfully implemented, bringing "double benefits" to the economy and the environment. In addition to the clean energy sector, Long An province is also calling on Japanese enterprises to invest in high-tech industries, supporting industries, processing and manufacturing industries, electronic components production, precision mechanics, semiconductor industry, agricultural product processing, pharmaceutical and medical equipment industry, biotechnology, etc.

To date, Long An province has 1,540 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of over 14.4 billion USD, ranking among the top 10 localities attracting FDI nationwide. Of which, Japan currently ranks fourth among more than 40 countries and territories with investment projects in Long An, with 161 projects and a total registered capital of over 1.2 billion USD.

Japanese projects mainly focus on the fields of wood production, mechanical engineering - machine manufacturing, electronic components, agricultural and aquatic product processing, animal feed and food production, actively contributing to economic restructuring, job creation and improving growth quality for the province./.
