On June 4th , Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An province - Nguyen Van Ut received and worked with the delegation of Yamanashi province (Japan) led by Mr. Ishidera Junichi - Deputy Governor.

The visit aims to learn about the investment environment, development potential and orientation for establishing cooperative relations between the two localities in the future.

At the beginning of the working session, Deputy Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut welcomed the visit of the Yamanashi Provincial Delegation in the locality. Hesaid that Long An always identifies Japan as one of the leading strategic partners, having a long-term and increasingly deep relationship with the province.

“We highly appreciate the visit of the delegation from Yamanashi – one of the localities with sustainable development, with strengths in technology, modern agriculture and education. This is a good opportunity for the two sides to strengthen connections, share information and move towards building an official cooperative relationship,” Mr. Nguyen Van Ut emphasized.

This visit will be an important first step, opening up prospects for substantive and effective cooperation between the two localities,” said Mr. Ishidera Junichi.

At the meeting, leaders of the two sides discussed the contents, areas of strength and directions of interest of the two localities for future cooperation such as industry, high-tech agriculture, education, labour and environment.

This visit will be an important first step, opening up prospects for substantive and effective cooperation between the two localities

Currently, Long An province has 1,540 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with a total registered capital of more than 14.4 billion USD, ranking in the top 10 localities attracting the most FDI in the country. Of which, Japan currently ranks 4th out of more than 40 countries and territories with investment projects in Long An, with 161 projects and a total registered capital of more than 1.2 billion USD.

Japanese projects mainly focus on the fields of wood production, mechanical engineering - machine manufacturing, electronic components, agricultural and aquatic product processing, animal feed and food production, actively contributing to economic restructuring, job creation and improving growth quality for the province.

In particular, at the end of March, Long An province successfully organized an investment promotion program in Tokyo and visited and worked in Ibaraki province. Immediately after the trip, many large Japanese corporations such as Sumitomo, Maeda Kensetsu, IHI, OBAYASHI had initial connections to promote investment projects in the province./.
