Cooperating to develop collective economy
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always paid attention to and promoted the role of cooperatives in socio-economic development. His collective economic ideology not only laid the foundation for the Vietnamese cooperative model but also paved the way for sustainable development in the period of industrialization and modernization of the country. Learning from Uncle Ho's economic thinking, many cooperatives joined forces, pooled capital, innovated production thinking, promoted the application of high technology and digital transformation, thereby increasing income and improving the lives of members.

In the spirit of solidarity, cooperation and benefit sharing, Tien Phat Agricultural Cooperative (Thuan Nghia Hoa commune, Thanh Hoa district) promotes the application of science and technology in production, improves productivity, product quality and builds a value chain

Solidarity and benefit sharing

President Ho Chi Minh was the first person to bring the idea of cooperatives to Vietnam. Right from the time he was still wandering to find a way to save the country, he was interested in collective economic organizations and cooperatives. In the book "The Revolutionary Path" written in 1927, after analyzing the benefits of cooperatives, he also talked about the nature of cooperatives as socio-economic organizations; the way to organize cooperatives must be based on the principles of voluntariness, democracy, mutual benefit and from low to high.

With the mindset of "cooperation is to work together, to enjoy the result together", today, many cooperatives are constantly innovating the way they organize production. A typical example is the transformation from the old cooperative model, which is heavily subsidized, to the new cooperative model, which encourages members to voluntarily participate, invest together, and share benefits according to their contribution ratio.

In addition, many agricultural cooperatives have boldly invested in building a value chain from production to product consumption. Stages such as linking the supply of input materials, planning planting areas, synchronous harvesting, preliminary processing - processing and product consumption, etc., are organized systematically and scientifically.

Since its establishment, Tien Phat Agricultural Cooperative (Thuan Nghia Hoa commune, Thanh Hoa district, Long An province) has contributed to changing farmers' production thinking towards sustainability. In the spirit of solidarity, cooperation and sharing benefits, the cooperative has promoted the application of science and technology in production, improving productivity, product quality and building a value chain.

The solidarity and consensus among members not only creates clean and safe agricultural products but also ensures stable output, increases product value and income. Each cooperative member participates in production and accompanies in development - investing together, sharing risks and enjoying the results together, in line with the spirit of cooperation that President Ho Chi Minh once emphasized.

Director of Tien Phat Agricultural Cooperative - Phan Van My said: "From 10 initial members producing 30 hectares, up to now, the cooperative has developed to 38 members, specializing in producing 100 hectares of certified rice varieties. The success of the cooperative is the result of the spirit of solidarity, sharing experiences and benefits among members".

Innovation in thinking

My Thanh Agricultural Cooperative (My Thanh commune, Thu Thua district) boldly invests in modern machinery and equipment to reduce input costs, improve productivity and quality of agricultural products, and create competitive advantages in the market

Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style is not only demonstrated through exemplary actions, diligence, thrift and dedication, but also through innovative thinking, daring to think and act for the benefit of the collective. Imbued with Uncle Ho's ideology on the spirit of cooperation, solidarity and mutual assistance, My Thanh Agricultural Cooperative (My Thanh commune, Thu Thua district) has taken it as a guiding principle for its development process.

With a development orientation towards modernization, My Thanh Agricultural Cooperative promotes the application of high technology in production. Accordingly, the cooperative boldly invests in modern machinery and equipment to improve technology, apply farming processes according to VietGAP standards, upgrade production lines to serve production and business activities. Thereby, helping the cooperative reduce input costs, improve productivity and quality of agricultural products, creating a competitive advantage in the market.

Along with investing in technology, the cooperative also focuses on innovating business methods, proactively surveying market demand to build a production plan close to reality. Thanks to the appropriate direction, the products of the cooperative are currently distributed to many provinces and cities and are present in supermarket systems and industrial kitchens. Each year, the cooperative supplies about 1,500 tons of vegetables, tubers, and fruits of all kinds, bringing in revenue of nearly 15 billion VND.

Following Uncle Ho's teachings, many cooperatives join forces and capital to promote technological innovation, promote efficiency in production and business

Director of My Thanh Agricultural Cooperative - Nguyen Quoc Cuong informed: "In the context of the strong national digital transformation, the cooperative is aware of the importance of information technology in management, operation and market connection. Accordingly, the cooperative applies member management software, trace product origin by QR code, connect with consumers through e-commerce platforms. These steps not only enhance transparency, increase consumer trust but also open up opportunities to access large domestic and foreign markets".

The collective economic thinking of President Ho Chi Minh still retains its practical value today. Learning from Uncle Ho does not only stop at remembering the teachings of the past but also demonstrates through specific actions in each step of development of the cooperative today.

In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, imbuing the spirit of solidarity, collective economic methods, the viewpoint of “taking people as the root” and promoting common interests according to Ho Chi Minh’s thought is the guiding principle for cooperatives to develop sustainably, improve income and quality of life for members./.
