According to the PCI 2024 report released by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Long An Province ranks second nationwide for outstanding reforms over nearly two decades of PCI implementation (2005–2024). In 2024 alone, the province’s PCI score reached 72.64 points, an increase of 1.7 points, ranked 3rd nationwide, and continued to lead the Mekong Delta region. Most notably, six component indices increased in points, including labor training; fair competition; land access; transparency; legal institutions, security, and order; and business support policies.

Regarding the PGI, although recently launched, the province ranked sixth nationwide thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions. This is also a clear commitment of the province to promote a green economy and sustainable development.

As for DDCI, 2024 is the second year the province has conducted an assessment through surveys, synthesizing opinions of more than 1,700 enterprises, cooperatives and business households. According to the assessment results, the Department of Education and Training leads the sector; Tan Tru district leads the local sector. This is also the second consecutive time that Tan Tru district has achieved this result.

In his speech at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and praised the efforts of departments, branches, localities, and the business community in building a transparent, fair, and sustainable investment environment. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province will continue to proactively seize opportunities, accelerate reforms to maintain its position, and create momentum for breakthroughs.

Mr. Nguyen Van Ut also requested that departments, sectors, and localities review the indicators that had decreased, identify the causes, and develop improvement plans. He emphasized that enhancing PCI, PGI, and DDCI should be a regular, key task. In particular, public service behavior must be reformed, shifting from “management” to “companion”; transparency, digital transformation, and significant improvements in weaker indicators should be promoted, along with strengthening dialogue and policy feedback to create the most favorable environment for businesses.
