Long An’s state budget revenue reaches nearly 14 trillion VND
On May 29, the Steering Committee for Promoting State Budget Collection in Long An Province held a conference to assess the status and results of state budget revenue for the first five months of 2025, as well as to outline directions and tasks for the remaining months of the year. The conference was attended by Mr. Huynh Van Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy, Head of the Tax Department of Region XVII.

Delegates attend the Conference

According to the report, the total accumulated state budget revenue by the end of May reached more than 13,895 billion VND, equal to 69.8% of the central budget estimate, 68.2% of the local budget estimate, and an increase of 27.8% over the same period in 2024.

Agricultural production continued to maintain growth momentum with rice output reaching 1.4 million tons, of which high-quality rice accounted for 77% of the total harvested rice output. Industrial production recovered strongly, increasing by 15.34% over the same period.

Regarding public investment, Long An has disbursed 28.8% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister and 26.9% of the provincial plan. The trade and services sector also showed significant progress, with total retail sales of goods and revenue from services in the first four months estimated at over 37 trillion VND, up 15.31% year-on-year.

It is expected that in the second quarter of 2025, state budget revenue will reach 9,379 billion VND, increasing the accumulated 6-month revenue to 16,050 billion VND (reaching 80.6% of the estimate).

The Tax Department for Region XVII proposed that the Provincial People’s Committee continue to direct departments and sectors to coordinate with tax authorities to resolve difficulties for businesses and prevent revenue loss in areas such as real estate, e-commerce, and the use of fraudulent invoices.
At the same time, it is necessary to expand the implementation of electronic invoices from cash registers and to enhance information sharing among relevant agencies.

Mr. Huynh Van Son, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, speaks at the conference

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Huynh Van Son commended the positive results achieved so far. He noted that the province’s economic growth rate in the first quarter reached 7.2%, the highest since 2021, ranking fifth in the Mekong Delta region.

In addition, Long An will also hold the 3rd position in PCI in 2024 with 72.64 points (an increase of 1.7 compared to 2023). However, he also pointed out some shortcomings in tax management; at the same time, he requested that the Tax sector and authorities at all levels continue to make efforts and resolutely implement solutions to complete the task of collecting the state budget in 2025.

Furthermore, it is necessary to promote communication, administrative reform to combat tax losses, and support businesses to develop sustainably./.
