Referring to Long An agricultural products available in the world market, we cannot forget dragon fruit. Currently, the province has over 10,300 hectares dragon fruit with the annual output of over 200,000 tons. Dragon fruit is mainly supplied to Chinese market (80%), other markets: Japan, Thailand, USA, Australia, etc. account for about 5%, and the rest is consumed in the country.

Investment promotion activities in Long An province have made good use of the advantages of the province and brought practical effects such as: Long An province and Hyogo province (Japan) signed a Joint Statement on investment, trade, tourism, education cooperation; Long An signed a cooperation agreement with Chungcheongnam province (Korea) on socio-economic development; MOU signed with Sacramento City Government (USA) on cooperation in promoting investment, trade, tourism and human resource training; etc.

On September 28th, 2018, the People’s Committee of Long An province held a preliminary conference to implement the socio-economic development cooperation program of Long An and Tay Ninh provinces in the period 2009-2018. The conference was chaired by Secretary of Long An provincial Party Committee – Pham Van Ranh and Secretary of Tay Ninh provincial Party Committee – Tran Luu Quang.

On August 03rd, 2018, the People’s Committee of Tien Giang province had a working session with the People’s Committee of Long An province on linking and cooperating socio-economic development between Tien Giang and Long An. Attending the meeting were Mr. Tran Van Can – Chairman of Long An People’s Committee, Mr. Le Van Huong – Chairman of Tien Giang People’s Committee and departments of Tien Giang and Long An provinces.
