Delegates approve the conference contents

At the conference, Head of Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department - Hoang Dinh Can popularized Program No. 51, dated March 7, 2024 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee to implement Resolution No. 44 of Central Committee of the Party Central Committee on the Strategy to protect the Fatherland in the new situation.

In the first quarter, the Party Committee, government and people in the province made efforts and strived to implement the Resolution, achieving a number of positive results in various fields. The gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is estimated to reach 4.83%; Of which, primary sector increased by 2.96%, secondart sector increased by 5.35% and tertiary sector increased by 6.2%. This is the highest economic growth rate in the first quarter in the last 3 years.

The Provincial Party Committee concludes that despite many difficult conditions, the economic growth rate in the first quarter is the highest in the last 3 years.

Total State budget revenue reached more than 8,600 billion VND, reaching more than 40% of the estimate assigned by the Provincial People's Council. Leadership and direction in the fields of public investment, compensation, site clearance and resettlement are focused and directed drastically, and the disbursement rate is quite good. Export and import turnover increased significantly over the same period.

Agricultural production is centrally inspected and directed; Solutions to prevent drought, water shortage, and saltwater intrusion have been proactively deployed. Salinity levels have increased slightly yet caused no damage to crops. The new rural construction investment program continues to receive attention and implementation. To date, the whole province has 131/161 communes meeting new rural standards, accounting for 81.4%. Socio-cultural is focused on. The network of schools and classes continues to be expanded and developed towards high quality. National defense, security, and internal affairs continue to be strengthened, etc.

Infrastructure construction is focused on in the first quarter

At the conference, delegates focused on discussing about budget collection; drought and salinity problems in districts: Can Giuoc, Can Duoc, Tan Tru; human resource training program to meet the needs of industrial and agricultural development in the province; etc.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that in the second quarter of 2024, the Provincial Party Committee will identify 4 groups of specific tasks and solutions, key points. In particular, Long An will focus on directing, resolving, and accelerating the implementation progress of key and large projects; develop a human resource training plan; urgently develop a land price list; strengthen solutions to ensure water for people in the lower areas.

Agricultural production continues to be focused

In addition, Party committees at all levels continue to promote the work of building a clean and strong Party and political system. In particular, Long An pays attention to the planning, training and preparation of human resources for Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025 - 2030 term, especially at the grassroots level and focus on female and young officials, preventing and combating corruption; etc.
