Long An and Hung Yen are two provinces located at two ends of the country but have similarities, both are rich in revolutionary tradition with a relationship of solidarity and affection.

After the country was unified, dozens of Hung Yen's militia units were sent to Long An to do irrigation work, reclaim wasteland, and contribute to preserving the country's southern border.

In particular, both localities are adjacent to the two largest urban areas in the country, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. This similarity is a favorable condition for the two provinces to focus on exchanging and sharing related issues in the fields of industry, site clearance, investment attraction, transportation infrastructure, and urban development, etc.

At the conference, Secretary of Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee - Nguyen Huu Nghia informed the outstanding socio-economic results of Hung Yen province in 2023 and the first quarter of 2024. At the same time, he shared experiences and lessons learned during the implementation process.

In the coming time, Secretary of Hung Yen Provincial Party Committee suggested that the two localities need to pay attention to exchange and sharing in land management and construction; improve the business environment, promote trade, attract investment; urban management and development, especially new urban areas and social housing; the process of restructuring the Agriculture sector; building new rural areas; etc.

Speaking at the conference, Secretary of Long An Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized that this conference is based on the 5 months after Long An and Hung Yen provinces signed the Development Cooperation Program.

Previously, on the morning of April 6, the delegation of two provinces visited Long An International Port in Tan Tap commune, Can Giuoc district. This port plays an important role in the commodity trade chain in the Mekong Delta region.

The Hung Yen province delegation highly appreciated the favorable location of Long An International Port for transshipment and trade of goods in the southern region with other regions in the country and the world.

After that, the delegation came to offer flowers and incense at the memorial stele of the relics of Inter-District Bases 5, 6, 7, 8; the Hoa people Mass Mobilization Department and People Mass Mobilization Department of the Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh Party Committee (Giong Dua Relics Site) in My Hanh Nam commune, Duc Hoa district, Long An province.

It is known that this was the place marking an important historical period in the formation and development of agencies and units under the Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh Party Committee.

At the same time, this was also a place to train cadres operating in the inner city during the fierce historical period from Dong Khoi movement to 1964./.
