| Economic effect | - Dragon fruit is currently occupying quite large proportion of Chau Thanh District, Long An Province agriculture mechanism. Pitahaya total area of the whole district at this time reached 6,661ha, occupying 60% of agriculture production land of the whole district. According to the project, Chau Thanh District will have 8,000ha Pitahaya area by 2020. There are more than 70 pitahaya purchase facilities for exportation in the whole district, including 20% of it is enterprises, the rest is individual investment. - Processing products from Dragon fruit, increasing a value of Dragon fruit; using every pcs of Dragon fruit which is not meeting standards to be eaten raw to make many kinds of food products for consumers; helping to keep a stable rate of Dragon fruit consumption, limiting the Dragon fruit redundant situation after main cropping. Creating more jobs, increasing income of Dragon fruit farmers and workers. |
