In 2023, the Prime Minister assigned additional capital from the Central budget to support Long An province in implementing the project to prevent and control river bank erosion, including the 120 billion VND anti-erosion embankment project in Kien Tuong town and the 120 billion VND project. Handling landslides on Can Giuoc river banks in Phuoc Lai commune, Can Giuoc district, 130 billion VND.

Up to now, 2 projects have reached the project approval stage, are designing construction drawings and estimates, these 2 projects have been approved by the Provincial People's Committee with an emergency decision in the case of appointing contractors.

However, up to now, the province has not implemented the step of appointing contractors according to the shortened process due to regulatory problems. To solve the above difficulties, the province has issued a written request to the Ministry of Planning and Investment for guidance on implementation.

Noting the local difficulties, the representative of the Central Working Group proposed that Long An province must quickly complete the construction drawing design documents and approve the project; At the same time, the province must also soon allocate local budget funds to implement the above two landslide prevention and control projects.

Regarding the appointment of contractors, the Ministry of Planning and Investment will soon have a written response for the province to use as a basis for project implementation, determined to disburse all allocated capital before December 31, 2024./.
