Proposing pilot green industrial park in Long An
On March 25, in Long An, former Politburo member, former State President - Truong Tan Sang and Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut chaired the meeting for the presentation of a pilot Green Industrial Park from Saigon Telecommunications Technology Joint Stock Company (SaigonTel) and partners.

At the meeting, SaigonTel and its US and Taiwanese partners presented detailed proposals related to the Green Industrial Park project in Long An. The project is expected to bring an advanced, environmentally friendly industrial development model and contribute to promoting the socio-economic development in the province.

According to Saigontel, it is expected that the construction of the Green Industrial Park in Long An will be implemented in 3 phases, including the Eco-Industrial Park; Carbon neutral industrial park; Net Zero carbon industrial park.

The industrial park is expected to attract domestic and foreign investors into the field of green industry, create a safe and friendly working and living environment for workers, and at the same time, contribute to protecting the environment and minimize the negative impacts of industrial activities.

It is known that Vietnam has made a strong commitment to the international community on the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero (Net Zero) by 2050. Accordingly, businesses believe that the urrent concerns are electricity, water, carbon credit offset policies or local support, towards a roadmap to reduce carbon emissions, green conversion solutions to avoid being taxed by the United States or Europe when exporting.

At the conference, experts also discussed more about carbon inventory and practical methods; the "carbon tax" regulation; etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut said that Long An agrees with the viewpoint of development without trading the environment. Long An will develop green industry and reduce carbon emissions, considering this an inevitable trend for sustainable development.

He highly appreciated the potential of the green industrial park and affirmed that, if successful, this would be the first green industrial park in the country, making an important contribution to implementing the sustainable development strategy of Long An province. .

Former Politburo member and former State President - Truong Tan Sang also emphasized that Long An needs to focus on preparing premises and human resources to attract partners to invest. He expects that when green industrial parks are well implemented with different management and administration methods, Long An's economy will also be different in a positive way./.
