When mentioning Ben Luc district, many people will surely remember lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho - an outstanding son of his hometown Long An. Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho, alias Ba Nghia, was born on July 10, 1910 in a family of civil servants in Long Phu village, Long Hung Ha district, Trung Quan district, Cho Lon province, now Ben Luc district, Long An province.

He is a talented leader, an exemplary personality, always wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland and the People, being absolutely loyal to the Party's revolutionary cause. Admiring the heart of the loyal and indomitable communist, in 2010, the province built a memorial area for Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho in Ben Luc town, Ben Luc district.

Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho's memorial area was invested by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and began construction in 2010. This is a renovation project with an area of 10,000 square meters and is divided into 3 areas: memorial temple, gallery of lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho's background and career, Nguyen Huu Tho Library - the largest library in Ben Luc district. In addition, the project also has a green park area to plant souvenir trees and other auxiliary items. Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho Memorial Area was recognized as a national monument by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2015. Currently, the place has become a familiar destination for many tourists inside and outside the province.

Every year, on September 11 and 12 of the lunar calendar, people from all over come to Nghe Village to celebrate the death anniversary of Nguyen Trung Truc. Nghe Village belongs to Binh Nhut village, Cuu Cu Ha, Cuu An, Tan An district, now belongs to hamlet 1, Thanh Duc commune, Ben Luc district. Previously, this area was a small fishing village on the Vam Co Dong River, where the hero Nguyen Trung Truc was born. In recent years, the scale of death anniversary ceremonies at the Nghe Hamlet Relic Area has often been small, but the hearts of people from all over towards him are always sincere and respectful.

In 1994, the Nghe Village Relic Area was recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a Provincial Historical Relic. After many years of preserving, exploiting and renovating, in the coming time, Ben Luc District People's Committee will adjust and supplement the investment scale.

Tourists explore Nguyen Huu Tho Library - the largest library in Ben Luc district

Ba Vu melaleuca forest is one of 10 historical relics in the district. The forest was formerly a large area belonging to 4 communes: Luong Hoa, An Thanh, Tan Buu, Tan Hoa. Today, it is located in hamlet 1, Tan Hoa commune. In the past, the place name Ba Vu melaleuca forest was located in a low-lying terrain area, along the banks of Vam Co Dong, formerly in Central District, Cho Lon province, now in Ben Luc district.

During the two resistance wars, Ba Vu melaleuca forest was a revolutionary base in the system of famous Vuon Thom, Ba Vu - Lang Le, and Bau Co bases in Long An. Comrades: Nguyen An Ninh, Chau Van Liem, Vo Cong Ton, Ho Van Long, etc had worked hard to build the Party base here.

The relic is a testament to the Party's ingenious and wise leadership. Today, the Ba Vu melaleuca forest historical relic has a construction area of about 10,893 square meters and was recognized as a provincial historical relic by the Provincial People's Committee according to Decision No. 119, dated January 27, 1994.

According to the District People's Committee, realizing that tourism development potential based on exploiting the value of historical relics, in recent times, the district has issued many plans and documents, actively implementing modelso preserve and promote the value of relics in tourism development.
