Long An – Evaluating PCI, investment environment improvement, enterprise development support

On April 11, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference to evaluate the PCI, the investment environment improvement, enterprise support and development in 2017; At the same time, evaluate the Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index 2017 (PAPI 2017) of the province.
According to the conference report, PCI 2017 of Long An province ranked the fourth in the ranking, belonged to Good group with 66.70 scores; increased 11 levels and increased 6.05 scores compared to 2016; All 10 component indexes increased without no component index decreased. Of which, Long An has 05 component indexes that were improved very well, with high scores, 02 indexes with scores higher than 3 provinces in Top 3 (Quang Ninh, Da Nang, Dong Thap), including: the dynamism of the provincial government, legal institution, market entry, access to land, unofficial fees. However, Long An has five component indexes with the scores increased than 2016 but still much lower than those of 3 provinces in Top 3, such as: enterprise support services, time costs to implement the State regulations, government transparency, access to information, labor training, fair competition.
As for PAPI results in 2017, Long An province achieved 38.30 / 60 scores, ranking the 11th among 63 provinces / cities and ranking in the 1st group – the group with the highest scores nationwide (this group consists of 16 provinces/cities). Increased 11 levels compared to 2016.

On this occasion, the certificates of merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee were also awarded to 05 collectives and 04 individuals with good achievements in improving and raising the provincial competitiveness index.
