On August 03rd, 2018, the People’s Committee of Tien Giang province had a working session with the People’s Committee of Long An province on linking and cooperating socio-economic development between Tien Giang and Long An. Attending the meeting were Mr. Tran Van Can – Chairman of Long An People’s Committee, Mr. Le Van Huong – Chairman of Tien Giang People’s Committee and departments of Tien Giang and Long An provinces.

Tien Giang and Long An are two of the provinces in the Southern key economic zone and share multiple waterways and roads connecting the two provinces. However, the potential for development between the two provinces is still great in all fields, so the meeting between leaders of the two provincial People's Committees and departments was to better understand the importance of linking and cooperating socio-economic development of both provinces.

At the meeting, the departments of Tien Giang and Long An provinces preliminarily reported the results of linkage and cooperation in recent years, as well as remaining problems that need to be resolved. Mr. Tran Van Can and Mr. Le Van Huong highly appreciated the linkage and cooperation of socio-economic development in the past time. At the same time, they raised many ideas that the two provinces should jointly study and plan to implement cooperative projects, thereby improving the performance of socio-economic development of Tien Giang and Long An provinces.
