After being introduced to the province's tourism strengths and potentials, the participants discussed four key issues: Developing new products, promoting tourism potential, training human resources and investing. Accordingly, Saigontourist analyzed the strengths and limitations of Long An tourism, and gave some suggestions for cooperation and development of the province's specific exploitation tourism: Trade village tourism, river tourism and health care tourism.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa was also interested in cooperating in training human resources for the provincial tourism industry. Also, he said that the province would create the most favorable conditions for Saigontourist as well as tourism companies in the province in the process of investing and developing tourism in Long An.

The Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee also proposed early signing a cooperation agreement between the province and Saigontourist Group to contribute to developing Long An tourism.

With these results, Deputy General Director of Saigon Tourism Corporation - Vo Anh Tai wished to be able to build at least 3 new effective tourism products soon in 2020./.

Along the NH 1 on the path from Ho Chi Minh City to provinces, cities of the western region, just as passing over Ben Luc bridge, enter Nhut Chanh four-way intersection, then turn right onto Provincial Road (PR) 816, it is Khang Thong Recreational Complex in Thanh Duc Commune, Ben Luc District right where you reach. On New Year and special occasions, plenty of bustling and enjoyable activities are organized, attracting a lot of tourists to come and join, such as flower market, music gala, circus, folk games, cultural depictions of various regions, areas. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thai - Happyland's Manager, stated that in the Lunar New Year 2021, the spring flower festival to serve the visitors is even now the significant cultural feature of the three regions.

Coming here, tourists are offered chances to immerse in the regional culture-engraved music: Southern Music of Amateurs (Don ca tai tu Nam Bo), Hue Royal Refined Music (Nha nhac cung dinh Hue), and water puppetry. Plus, the mini " Truong Son forest mountains" is also created to give a portrait of more than 50 ethnic groups' characteristics. Mr. Ho Huynh Anh Son, a Happyland's staff, informed: "The tourist area has been added several constructions that are simulators of Trang Tien Bridge (Thua Thien Hue), Western flower field, recaptured brickyard of ancient times, area for artificial rain showers, "Nang Thom" paddy field, Hai Tuong Aquarium, seaside aquariums,  and so on".

2. Ms. Nguyen Dang Thi Ngoc Han - sales staff of Ecological Tourist Area of Tan Lap floating village (Tan Lap Commune, Moc Hoa district), expressed: "The tourist site's area is over 130 hectares with surrounding year-round subsurface dykes which means visitors can come to admire particularly picturesque sceneries of the flood season in the Plain of Reeds with natural creatures such as lotus, water lily, birds, storks, etc. Recently, an eight-story floating hotel has been added for renovation. Tourists staying overnight at the cajeput forest are going to enjoy a fascinating time here".

Based on Thap Muoi Tourism Co., Ltd's information - investor of Tan Lap Floating Village, the company are going to build more amusement areas soon, chiefly for the refurbished domestication area of birds with an area of over 10 hectares, the folk games area are having more interesting games, night cinemas are also being supplied to serve visitors. Presently, underground tow-cable systems were equipped to move passenger trains with a speed of 3 kilometers every 50 minutes. Visitors can feel free to go sightseeing, take photos as their keepsakes, feast their eyes on the beauty of the lotus, water lily, and cajeput forest. To ones who are keen explorers, going hiking on a 5-kilometer-long trail through the forest or climbing up to an 18-meter-high tower to overlook the forest. The ecological tourist site currently brings electric shuttle-cars into use to drop visitors off at the tourist spots.

Ms. Ngoc Han also provided that the food area is presently able to serve tourists the dishes of three regions, mainly rural dishes of the Plain of Reeds. Large quantities of visitors left positive feedbacks and praised for tasty dishes, a rather good service attitude and infrastructure.

Mr. Le Van Hue, a local citizen, who is currently an electric car driver of the company, shared: "Since Thap Muoi Co., Ltd's investment in the ecological tourist site, the area has drawn a huge number of tourists, mostly the youths from Ho Chi Minh City, thus it facilitates the jobs for local people".

3. Being notable for leisure travel form of travel which attracts numerous visitors within and outside Long An, the Reserve owned by Dong Thap Muoi Reserve Study and Drug Development Joint Stock Company (JSC) (located in Binh Phong Thanh town, Moc Hoa district) has an area of up to 1.000 hectares. It also takes care of few hundreds of hectares of pristine cajeput forest, which brings abundant sources of drugs. Pharmacist Bui Dac Thang – the chairman of the board, General Director of Dong Thap Muoi Reserve Study and Drug Development JSC, expresses: "To ensure the customer retention, especially customers who appreciate health and relaxation, we fund different categories: running track, forest cycling, natural pools, fishing area, sauna, massage, etc. Furthermore, coming here, visitors can relax and get therapy with a variety of home remedies.

Happyland entertainment area has many activities to attract tourists

According to Long An Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in February 2019, tourists to Long An reached more than 450,000 people, increased 9 times over the same period of 2018. Of which, international visitors reached 2,500 turns of people, revenue reached VND 135 billion, increased more than 100% over the same period of 2018.

Vice Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism – Nguyen Thanh Thanh said that, after the Lunar New Year, tourists manly visited ecological tourism sites, cultural and historical relics of the province, especially the number of visitors to Happyland tourism area soared.

With its position as the Western gateway and the vast area of Dong Thap Muoi, Long An is a relatively new destination for near and far tourists./.

​Duc Hue is located at the northeast edge of Dong Thap Muoi region, adjoining to Southeast Region where is the transition from the Southeast to Mekong River Delta Region. With the above mentioned geographical location, the district receives the freshwater source from Dau Tieng Lake which helps Duc Hue District to promote the advantage in producing the typical agricultural products of Mekong River Delta Region such as: rice, sugarcane, animals (pig, cows, ducks), shrimps, fish and forestry product (melaleuca). In addition, thanks to located nearest to the border gate from Cambodia to Hau Nghia Town to Ho Chi Minh City, the district has the advantage for developing service and trade (import and export activities through the border gate), attracting the investments into the district (farm, service, trade etc.). In the future, when the main traffic axes and border ring roads N1 are completed, Duc Hue shall have the great opportunities to exploit the socio-economic development advantages, especially in service economy to contribute to transit the economy mechanism following modernization and industrialization.

Besides above mentioned advantages, the geographical location also brings about some restrictions to Duc Hue district as follows: because this is the transition location between the Southeast Region and Mekong River Delta Region with the overlapping of Pleitocene and new alluvial as well as the alum coating, therefore, 100% soil is of "having problem" land category. In addition, when Dau Tieng Lake is not yet completed, the entire Duc Hue district is contaminated with saline with the volume of 4g/l for 3-4 months/year and the infrastructure is not yet invested properly, the district is the poorest district of Long An province (with the percentage of poor households of 19.3%). At the same time, with 25km of border line (in 4 communes), the district is the "hot location" of smuggling with the participation of many people which causes the delays in agricultural production because it is easy to earn money than honest work.

The district consist of Dong Thanh Town-the center of the district and 10 communes of My Thanh Dong, My Quy Dong, My Quy Tay, My Thanh Tay, Binh Thanh, My Thanh Bac, Binh Hoa Bac, Binh Hoa Nam, Binh Hoa Hung, My Binh (separated from Binh Hoa Hung commune).​

Currently, total output of banana in Tay Ninh and Long An is over 4,000 tons/year, of which 40% is exported to Japan. In addition, rice is also a popular item in the world. Currently, there are 21 enterprises which are allowed to export rice in the province. From beginning of 2018 to present, rice export enterprises bought 815,000 tons of paddy, up 4% over the same period in 2017.

At present, there remain 2 low regions - center of alum in Bac Dong and Bo Bo - Mo Vet. As reclaiming, it should pay closely attention to lead  the alum water source to downstream, damaging the production of riverside regions. ​​

1. In the first days of the year, we had the opportunity to go with the delegation to visit the relics of the Party Committee Base - Southern Resistance War Administration Committee (in Bui Thang hamlet, Nhon Hoa Lap commune, Tan Thanh district). This is one of the three most important bases of the South during 9 years of the resistance war against the French colonialists. The site was classified as a National Historic Site by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2007.

The spacious campus area of the base is 3 hectares, including the residence of comrades Le Duan, Pham Van Bach and Tran Van Tra; Office of the Southern Resistance War Administration Committee, the Southern print workshop and Pharmaceutical preparation room. All are rebuilt from locally available materials such as clay, straw, bamboo, mangrove, and so on. These materials can withstand enemy artillery. The relic also have the tombs of Mr. Nguyen Van Sieu and Mrs. Tran Thi En, traditional houses, exhibitors, etc. Surrounding the area are lush flower gardens that are cultivated by local people.

Thanks to the story of Mr. Nguyen Van Sieu's grandson, we reviewed the important events of the history associated with this monument such as the place where the Congress of the Southern Party Committee of the Southern Party was held, the first place of Southern Radio was broadcasted, the place where the documentary film about the first film revolution of our country was shown, and many famous battles that terrified colonialists. It was also associated with the glorious feats of Battalion 307, 309; Regiment 120, 105, etc. 

2. Leaving this historic site, the delegation visited the Historic relics of Long An province (also known as Binh Thanh Historical relics, in Binh Hoa Hung commune, Duc Hue district). This is considered the base of the people, which marks the period of operation of Long An Provincial Party Committee.

At present, Binh Thanh historical relics no longer have specific architectural works. For that reasons, Long An province invested nearly  183 billion VND for the construction of major items such as restoring and preserving the original relics of the base, working place; building memorial works, parks, landscapes and other infrastructure items; restoring the natural ecosystem as before to help visitors can visualize the landscape of the base area.

Nowadays, Binh Thanh Base no longer hears the sounds of bombs and smoke of war. On the contrary, visitors enjoy a peaceful space with rows of green bamboos and the sound of birds chirping. This is a place converging the best traditional values of patriotism, strong spirit and firm belief in the final victory of the Party Committee and people of Long An province under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

3. Back to Tan An City, our delegation continued to visit Nguyen Huynh Duc Temple and Tomb (in Khanh Hau Ward). This was the last location of the "Returning to our roots" journey at the historic sites in the spring days. The site includes an architectural complex of the tomb of the early Nguyen Dynasty with valuable antiques in the late XVIII and early XIX centuries. In addition, we also knew the life and career of a famous general Ba Giong land. General Nguyen Huynh Duc is worshiped as a predecessor by the people. In 1993, the tomb was recognized as a Historical-cultural relic.

Currently, the tomb is kept and protected by his lineage. Upholding the family tradition, the descendant of Nguyen Huynh Duc has many successful people who contribute to building the homeland.

Border trade is one of the fields which Long An province Party Committee secretary Pham Van Ranh requires Kien Tuong town to develop

In addition, the town should pay attention to developing hi-tech farming and product consumption connectivity chains.

​Thanh Hoa is a district in Dong Thap Muoi region where is annually impacted by the floods. The establishment and socio-economic development of Thanh Hoa district is closely linked to reclamation and immigration and construction of new economic region in Dong Thap Muoi. The infrastructure is still limited and not synchronous which results in considerable difficulties for the socio-economic development of the district. According to the geographical and economic region classification of Long An province, Thanh Hoa belongs to Sub-Zone IV (including Thanh Hoa, Bac Thu Thua and a part of Tan Thanh district). The main tasks assigned to the distrist is developing agriculture-forestry-fishery, in particularly: stabilizing the production of 2-crop rice (Winter-Spring and Spring-Autumn), rotation production of rice-jute, forestry (indigo) and fresh aquaculture.

Thanh Hoa district has 11 communes-town in which Thanh Hoa town is the center of the district and communes of Thuy Dong, Thuy Tay, Tan Dong, Tan Tay, Thanh Phuoc, Thanh Phu, Thuan Nghia Hoa, Thuan Binh, Tan Hiep, Thanh An (newly established according to the Decree No. 50/2003/NĐ-CP by the Government on the basis of being separated from Thuy Tay commune).​

Up to now, the whole province has 19 operating industrial clusters with a total area of 904.3 hectares, has leased 586.6 hectares. Industrial clusters attracted 544 projects with a total investment capital of VND15,635 billion. Of these, these are 60 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with total investment capital of USD 209 million. The occupancy rate of industrial clusters is 86.55%.

In the first nine months of 2018, the provincial People's Committee has set up six industrial clusters covering an area of 379.6 hectares including Hoang Gia, Dua Hoa Dong, Thanh Yen, My Kim, Tan Dong Tien and Tan My.

Besides, the Long An Department of Industry & Trade has proposed People's Committee to establish two more An Long and Tu Phuong industrial clusters. As per result, Long An has now total 40 industrial clusters covering 1,908 hectares.

Vam Co Dong river starts from Cambodia, through Tay Ninh province and to Long An province: area of basin of 6.000 km², the length through province of 145 km, the depth of 17 - 21 m. Thanks to water source passed from Dau Tieng lake with the flow of 18,5 m³/s, it supplements the irrigation for Duc Hue, Duc Hoa, Ben Luc districts and reduces the process of salinization of Vam Co Dong river through Soai Rap estuary. Vam Co Dong river connects with Vam Co Tay through horizontal channels and connects with Sai Gon, Dong Nai rivers by Thay Cai, An Ha, Rach Tra channels, Ben Luc river.

Vam Co Tay river with the length through province is 186 km, water source is mainly received from Tien river through Hong Ngu channel, satisfying the demand of irrigation for agricultural production and daily life of people.

Vam Co river with 35 km long, 400 m wide, emptying into Soai Rap estuary and flowing to the East Sea is the confluence of Vam Co Dong and Vam Co Tay rivers.

Rach Cat river (Can Giuoc River) situated in Long An province is 32 km long, with a small water flow in dry season and poor water quality due to receiving waste water source from urban area - Ho Chi Minh City, having a great effect on production and daily life of people.

In general, surface water source of Long An is not abundant, the quality of water is inappropriate in certain respects. Therefore, it does not meet the requirement of production and life.

According to assessment, reserves of ground water of Long An are not abundant and their quality is different and quite poor. Most of ground water source is in the depth from 50 - 400 meters under 2 horizones, Pliocene – Miocene.

However, the ground water source of province has many useful minerals which are exploited and served for daily life of people in the whole country.

In heavy rain or flood, with hurricane tide, it has often occurred flood in regions along the banks of river, especially lowland. To exploit efficiently surface water resource in Long An, in addition to channel expansion to create source, it is necessary to build more conservatoires in places where do not have sources.

In future, it is necessary to specify the reserves of ground water source, location, the reproductive capacity to have plan on effective and sustainable exploitation and use.​​​

Lemon, dragon fruit are two of the agricultural products with high export value of the province 

Accordingly, the exported products are various, the quality of exported products is improved, raising the competitiveness and reaching the market demanding high quality such as EU, US, Japan, and Korea.

In 800 export enterprises, there are 90 enterprises exporting over USD 10 million, focusing on commodities: Rice, seafood, cashew nuts, coffee, bear, shoes, textiles, steel, battery, plastic products, and electronic components. Especially, the province's products have 8 export markets over USD 100 million products of the province (China, Taiwan, Korea, US, Japan, Hong Kong, Cambodia, and Vietnam (in-place export), and 26 export markets over USD 10 million.

In the first 6 months of 2018, the province's export turnover was estimated at USD 2.55 billion, increasing by 20.9%; import turnover was estimated at USD 1.93 billion, increasing by 3.4% over the same period of 2017./.

Secretary of Long An province Party Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People's Council Pham Van Ranh and Chairman of People's Committee Tran Van Can attended the event.

Chairman Can said Sojitz is the largest Japanese economic Corporation to invest in muti-fields in the province and has many experiences in attracting investment and supplying industrial park's high quality infrastructure services.

Long An authorities hoped that Sojitz would help call for more prestigous foreign investors to invest in Long An's Phu An Thanh Industrial Park, focusing on hi-tech fields to contribute environment protection and the provincial socioeconomic development.

Phu An Thanh Industrial Park covers an area of 692 hectares, locating at An Thanh Commune, Ben Luc District. Up to now, it has attracted 37 domestic & foreign investors with total investment capital up to VND 1trillion and US$ 204million and created over 4,000 jobs for local people.
