At the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – Tran Van Can expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation to visit and work in Long An; at the same time, he also introduced the socio-economic development situation of Long An. Thereby, he wanted the World Bank to support Long An with loans to implement 03 provincial projects: the project of building an electronic government towards a digital government and implementing smart urban services in Long An province which is one of the important projects during the 4.0 technology revolution to accelerate the process of socio-economic development quickly and sustainably; the driving force project connecting Ho Chi Minh City – Long An province – Tien Giang province which aims to improve the underdeveloped areas, promote urban development along the districts of Can Giuoc, Can Duoc, Chau Thanh, Tan Tru, and promote the development of logistics industry in the future to serve the Mekong river delta and provinces in the key economic region; drainage and wastewater treatment project in Tan An City (phase 1) which is a very necessary and urgent project to limit pollution of Vam Co Tay river water, ensuring Tan An City's drainage problem, contributing to complete the infrastructure of Tan An City.

The World Bank Country Director – Mr. Ousmane Dione thanked the provincial leaders for welcoming the delegation thoughtfully and congratulated the socio-economic achievements of Long An province. Through the discussion at the meeting, Mr. Ousmane Dione highly appreciated Long An's socio-economic development orientation in the coming time and said that after completing, Long An's 03 proposed projects would help Long An improve its investment environment, promote sustainable socio-economic development in the direction of industrialization and modernization.
