Chau Thanh district has the convenient waterway and road system to facilitate the agricultural product consumption and application of science and technology to develop the hi-tech agriculture, processing industry, trade-service and become the clue for purchasing agricultural products. Provincial Road No. 827 and the bypass through National Highway No.50 shall be the main external road of the District connecting the economic zones together. On the other hand, Chau Thanh is located adjoining to Vam Co River, near East Sea with many saline areas, at the downstream, there is fresh water source from Cho Gao canal and Bao Dinh canal, therefore, the fresh water is limited (especially in communes of Thanh Phu Long, Thuan My, Thanh Vinh Dong) and there are many saline alluvial areas.
