At the meeting, Mr. OIGAWA Kazuhiko said that Ibaraki prefecture was a locality that developed harmoniously between industry and agriculture in Japan. Particularly for Long An province, in addition to cooperation in the field of labor, Mr. OIGAWA Kazuhiko said that the locality also wanted to learn more about investment opportunities in the field of manufacture as well as cooperation on high-tech agriculture which are areas where Ibaraki prefecture had advantage.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – Pham Tan Hoa briefly introduced about the natural conditions and socio-economic situation of Long An province. Mr. Hoa said that the locality was very focused on the relationship with Japan. Over the past years, Long An province has organized missions to Japan to promote cooperation with Japan's local governments, organizations and enterprises. In addition, as a locality that received a lot of Japanese enterprises to invest (more than 144 projects), Long an province always paid great attention to tighten the relations with the Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, Japanese organizations in Vietnam such as JICA, JETRO, JBAH, and regularly organized dialogues with Japanese organizations and enterprises operating in the province.
In particular, Long An province paid great attention to labor cooperation with Japan, bringing the province's laborers to Japan to work and study, considering it was a strategic solution to create jobs for workers, contributing to povety reduction, and more importantly, improving the quality of the province's labor force.
