Last year, the Liaison Board of Long An compatriots in Ho Chi Minh City organized numerous activities to support Long An people studying and working in Ho Chi Minh City; contributed ideas to promote socio-economic development of the province. Particularly, the Board mobilized members, businesses, Maecenas to support billions of dong to build two gratitude houses, six charitable houses for government-policy beneficiary families, poor households, and victims of Agent Orange; donated thousands of gifts, scholarships for poor households, studious students in remote areas in the province; etc.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee – Hoang Van Lien provided an overview of the province's socio-economic development results in the year; at the same time, he recognized the positive contributions of Long An compatriots in Ho Chi Minh City in the homeland construction and development, as well as desired that they would continue to make more practical contributions in the coming time.
On that occasion, the provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 4 collectives and 3 individuals who contributed to Long An homeland in 2017.
